Extension Activity
Event Summary:
The two-day hands-on training program aimed at equipping non-teaching and housekeeping staff with practical knowledge on preparing essential sanitary chemicals.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 23 non-teaching staff on the first day and 18 housekeeping staff on the second day.
The inauguration was graced by the Vice Principal, Dr. S. Sambath, along with Heads of Departments, faculty members, and the resource person, Dr. S. Rajkumar, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry. Dr. A. Anusuya, Head of the S&H Department, delivered the welcome address, and Dr. E. Mothi Paul proposed the vote of thanks.
Participants were guided in preparing various cleaning solutions such as toilet bowl cleaner, bathroom cleaner, floor cleaner, dish wash liquid, fabric conditioner, and liquid detergent.
The hands-on training provided valuable exposure to chemical handling, safety measures, and formulation techniques. The program was well received, with active engagement from participants.
The Vice Principal and Group Coordinator, Mr. Manoharan, visited the lab, encouraging and motivating the participants.
The second day followed a similar structure, focusing on housekeeping staff, who benefited from the same practical demonstrations and training. The event concluded with a feedback session, where participants appreciated the valuable skills imparted.
The training successfully contributed to economic stability, self-reliance, and sustainable development, particularly for self-help groups. We extend our gratitude to the Management, Principal, Vice Principal, and all involved for their support in making this initiative a great success. Future training sessions will be planned to continue our commitment to skill development.
