SRM MCET-Pongal celebration -2025

The Management, Staff, Faculty and Students of SRMMCET came together to celebrate the traditional Tamil festival of Pongal on January 10, 2025. The event organized to commemorate the traditional harvest festival, featured an exciting array of cultural and fun-filled competitions. The celebrations were marked by a vibrant environment of joy, togetherness, and healthy competition. The festivities were led by Principal Dr. S. Durairaj, Vice Principal Dr. S. Sambath and SRM Group Coordinator Mr. M. Manoharan.

Dr. R. Sathish Kumar and Dr. R. Prema Sumathi served as the overall coordinators for the Pongal celebration. As part of the festivities, a variety of student competitions were organized, fostering enthusiasm and participation. The events included:

In addition to the competitions, the event featured a series of cultural performances. Students presented traditional dances, folk music, solo singing and other performances that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.

The Pongal Day celebration at SRMMCET was a resounding success, bringing together students and faculty in a joyous and festive atmosphere. The wide variety of competitions, cultural performances, and the spirit of unity made it an event to remember. It not only celebrated the harvest festival but also showcased the talent, creativity, and teamwork of the students. The day ended on a high note with prize distribution to the winners and everyone cherishing the memories of a day filled with fun, festivity, and cultural pride.
