YAZHI’ 25

The Department of Information Technology at SRM Madurai College of Engineering and Technology successfully organized YAZHI’25, a National Level Inter-College Technical Symposium, on 20th September 2025. The event was conducted across multiple venues, including the Auditorium, Seminar Hall 1, and various labs, from 09:20 AM to 03:45 PM.

Yazhi’25 marked the inaugural edition of the annual symposium, featuring seven events—four technical and three non-technical. The symposium received an enthusiastic response, with 200 participants (155 external and 45 internal) representing several reputed institutions across Tamil Nadu.

The inauguration ceremony began with Thamizh Thai Vazhthu and lamp lighting by dignitaries. The event was presided over by The Principal, Dr. S. Durairaj, and coordinated by Dr. J. Jeyaranjani, HoD/IT. The Chief Guest, Mr. Ramkumar Paramathman, delivered an inspiring address on Artificial Intelligence and technological advancement. The session also witnessed the release of the departmental magazine Future Forge (2024–2025 edition).

The technical events—Metamorphosis (Project Presentation), Web Wizard (Web Development), Picture Perfect (UI/UX Design), and Code Relay (Coding Challenge)—showcased innovation, problem-solving, and programming excellence. The non-technical events—Blank Canvas (Art Contest), Meme Mania (Meme Creation), and Frames Shot (Short Film Contest)—highlighted participants’ creativity and expression.

The symposium concluded with a valedictory ceremony, where winners were felicitated with prizes and participation certificates. The event ended with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem, marking the successful completion of YAZHI’25.
