Event Summary:

The Inauguration of the ISTE Student Chapter & ISTE Sponsored FDP was held on September 20, 2025, at the SRM MCET Auditorium. Dr. S. Durairaj, Principal, SRM MCET, honored the chief guest and shared the Presidential Address emphasizing the institution’s commitment to fostering student leadership and technical excellence. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. K. Srithar, Professor & HoD/Mechanical, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. This was followed by the formal introduction of Office Bearers by Dr. R. Ashok Kumar, ISTE Faculty Incharge. The session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. R. Ashok Kumar, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and organizing team. The event was commemorated with a group photo of all attendees.

The technical sessions featured distinguished speakers delivering comprehensive presentations:

Dr. K. Srithar, HoD/Mechanical, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, presented “A beginner’s guide to research methods,” providing foundational insights into research methodology principles and practices.

Dr. C. Callins Christiyana, HoD/CSE, SRM Madurai College for Engineering & Technology, delivered a session on “Experimental research in Computer Science,” sharing expertise on research approaches specific to computer science applications.

Dr. R. Deepalakshmi, HoD/AIDS, SRM Madurai College for Engineering & Technology, conducted a comprehensive session on “Identifying the Right Journal or Conference: A Guide for Faculty Researchers,” providing valuable guidance on publication strategies and academic writing.

The FDP was well-received by participants and the sessions were highly informative, setting an excellent precedent for academic and professional development at SRM MCET. The program concluded with certificate distribution to all participants by Dr.S.Durairaj, Principal, SRM MCET followed by  Vote of Thanks by Dr. R. Deepalakshmi,  HoD/AIDS.
