Induction Day 2024

SRM Madurai College for Engineering and Technology started its educational service in Sivagangai District in 2023 and has completed its second Induction Day successfully. While the first Induction Day addressed 375 students and their parents with insightful pleasantness in 2023-24, its second Induction Day for the academic year 2024-25 was held on 14.09.2024 with a higher intake of 774 students which is inclusive of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The activities, lectures, local visits were planned to make the students admitted across the state from various cultural, social, and economic backgrounds feel one and at ease. The induction programme was well-planned and executed to make the transition smooth and pleasant. The academic team of the institution takes every aspect into its consideration to make the students feel comfortable and be enlightened with the process of higher education. Also, the responsibilities the students ought to carry out for accomplishing a better career was put forward through lively and informative sessions. A variety of activities were planned and methodically implemented and the same was captured and printed in the successive pages of this report. Starting from Day 1 through Day 10 the events and the students’ participation which fulfills the purpose of its conduct are documented as proofs to serve as precedence for the future reference and betterment.

Induction Day 2024 at SRM Madurai College for Engineering and Technology is a vibrant and welcoming event that marks the beginning of academic year 2024-25. The day is designed to integrate incoming students into the college community, introducing them to the institution’s values, resources, and opportunities. The ceremony typically features addresses from the Chairman, Correspondent, Principal, and Director, each offering insights into the college’s vision, support

systems, and expectations. With interactive sessions, campus tours, and a glimpse into student life, Induction Day sets a positive and inspiring tone, encouraging new students to embark on their academic journey with enthusiasm and confidence.

Induction Day 2024 began with welcoming the students and their parents in two batches. Students of CSE, IT, EEE, and ECE had their inaugural session at 10:30 a.m. in the college auditorium, and were addressed by Mr.Sandeep Nanduri, IAS, Managing Director of TIDCO. The other half of students attended their inaugural at 2:30 p.m. the same day and they were addressed by motivational speaker Kathiga Raja . The chief guests of both sessions inspired and motivated the students with their informative and thought provoking address. Their addresses were followed by felicitating the top achievers from 2^nd year students in Curricular, Co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities. Also, they had the privilege of addressing the I year students which moved them greatly. Both the sessions on the day were packed with events of attention like Welcome address, Presidential address, Chief guest address, Toppers address, Parents address, Release of Book, Presenting a Memento, Vote of thanks and National Anthem. While the freshers took their seats at the auditorium, their parents witness the video presentation of the same from Seminar Hall 1 and Seminar Hall 2.
