Two Days National Level Workshop on “ Renewable Energy Resources in India: Career Prospects and Challenges ”

Event Summary:

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) of SRM Madurai College for Engineering and Technology has organized an Two Days National Level Workshop on “Renewable Energy Resources in India: Career Prospects and Challenges” during 20.02.2025 & 21.02.2025.

39 participants from various institutions in and around madurai has participated and benefited out of this event.

The two days’ workshop was organized with the aim of bringing together experts, academicians, and students to discuss recent advancements and future directions in renewable energy. The event was featured with the insightful technical sessions delivered by distinguished speakers.

The workshop provided a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration among professionals in the field of electrical and electronics engineering. Participants explored various facets of renewable energy, including solar, wind, hydro, and biomass energy, while discussing challenges and opportunities in India’s renewable energy sector.

The first day of the workshop on Renewable Energy began with registration and an inaugural session. Dr. C. Vimalarani welcomed the participants, followed by a felicitation address by Dr. S. Durairaj.

Dr. L. Jessi Sahaya Shanthi delivered the first technical session on India’s renewable energy progress.

Dr. C. Vimalarani discussed research perspectives in renewable energy, while Dr. P. Deepamangai addressed challenges in photovoltaic grid integration. Networking opportunities were provided during breaks.

The day concluded with a panel discussion where the speakers answered queries on policies and industry applications, fostering collaboration among students, researchers, and professionals.

The second day of the workshop began with Dr. M. Karthik discussing bioenergy technologies, covering biomass energy, waste-to-energy solutions, and biofuel advancements.

Dr. S. Durairaj led the next session on optimizing wind farm reactive power for grid stability.

Dr. Sujatha Balaraman addressed challenges in integrating Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) into the grid, highlighting solutions like energy storage and smart grids.

The valedictory session featured Dr. Sujatha Balaraman, emphasizing renewable energy research, followed by certificate distribution and a vote of thanks by Dr. J. Rajalakshmi. The workshop successfully fostered discussions on renewable energy innovations and career opportunities.

The Two-Day National-Level Workshop on Renewable Energy successfully brought together experts, academicians, and students to discuss vital aspects of renewable energy technology and integration. The sessions provided valuable insights into the technical challenges and solutions in bioenergy, wind energy, and grid integration. Careerprospects in the renewable energy sector were also highlighted, encouraging students to pursue research and development in this field.

The workshop served as an excellent platform for fostering collaborations, knowledge exchange, and awareness-building among attendees. Participants appreciated the engaging discussions and interactive sessions, emphasizing the need for continued dialogue and innovation in renewable energy technologies.

Moving forward, the organizing committee aims to expand such initiatives by conducting specialized workshops, industry-academic partnerships, and hands-on training programs to enhance practical knowledge and research contributions in the field of renewable energy.
