1st College Day & Annual Day

The First College day and Annual Day celebration at SRM Madurai College for Engineering and Technology was held with great enthusiasm and excitement on 31.05.2024. The event aimed to celebrate the achievements of the students and faculty and to reflect on the academic year’s milestones.

Welcome Address:

The event began with Tamil thaivalthu by the students. The program has continued by a warm welcome address by Dr.S.J. Subhashini, Associate Professor/CSE.  She highlighted the importance of such events in fostering a sense of community and belonging among students and staff.

The traditional lamp-lighting ceremony was performed by the Chief Guest, Mr.S Ananthapadmanaban, Head HR, TVS Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) Limited, Madurai, along with the principal Dr.S. Durairaj, Management representative Mr. M. Manoharan, faculty members, and student representative. This act symbolized the dispelling of darkness and the arrival of light, signifying knowledge and learning.

The Principal, Dr.S. Durairaj honored the chief guest with memento in the memory of College day of SRM MCET.

College Day Annual Report:

The principal, Dr.S. Durairaj, presented the annual report, elaborate the college’s achievements over the past one year. Highlights included:

• Academic achievements of students.
• Research publications and projects by the staffs.
• Programs organized by the staffs both online and offline mode.
• Conduction of Tech day and National Level symposium.
• Conduction of 1^stNational level conference by all the 6 departments.
• Collaborations with industry and other institutions
• Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities
• Infrastructure developments.

Chief Guest Introduction:

Dr,C.Callins Christiyana, HOD/ CSE, Introduced the chief guest. He is a Head HR in TVS Supply Chain Solutions (SCS), Madurai. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of HR and admin.

Chief Guest’s Address:

The Chief Guest, Mr.S Ananthapadmanaban, addressed the gathering, congratulating the Principal and Management for conducting such an events with in a year.  He emphasized the importance of holistic education in shaping well-rounded individuals. Also He requested the students to not only improve their knowledge also improve the Skills and competency.

He advised that students should well know about the economy of Indian country, that will bring the students can create the opportunity in the right path.

Awards and Recognitions:

Awards and recognitions were given to students who excelled in AU first semester examination Nov 2023 along with their parents. As a gesture of gratitude and respect, shawls were presented by the chief guest to the parents of the students who have shown exemplary performance in academics.

This symbolic act was aimed at honouring the unwavering support and encouragement that parents provide to their children. The medals has been awarded to the topper students of each department. The students are encouraged with the distribution of certificates for their achievements in 100 percentage attendance in the 1^st semester.

Vote of Thanks:

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.C.Vimalarani, HOD/EEE&ECE, who expressed gratitude to the Management, Director, Academics, Chief Guest, Principal, MR, Group HR, Director, Admission and outreach, teaching and non-teaching faculty members, students, and all those who contributed to the success of the event.
