Event Summary:
Gist of Event A seminar titled “Precision Without Damage: Exploring NDT Methods” was organized for the undergraduate Civil Engineering students to enhance their understanding of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques and their applications in modern construction practices. The session aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation in structural assessment. The resource person explained how NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV), Rebound Hammer Test, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and Infrared Thermography play a crucial role in evaluating the strength, durability, and integrity of concrete structures without causing any physical damage. Students gained insights into the principles, advantages, and limitations of each method, as well as their relevance in quality control, rehabilitation, and maintenance of civil structures. Real-world case studies and demonstration videos provided a engaging learning experience, highlighting the importance of accuracy and precision in structural evaluation. The seminar encouraged students to adopt innovative, non-invasive techniques for sustainable construction and effective infrastructure management.
