With a visionary outlook, the founder Chairman, Thandavarayapuram Ramasamy Paarivendhar – a great visionary and philanthropist, showed profound interest in establishing educational institutions with an ennobling thought of uplifting the youth with quality education, thereby making the nation proud.
His commitment and dedication has been attracting the youth across the country, and the group of institutions has become a coveted destination for most of the aspiring youth as SRM assured uncompromising quality and an ideal educational setup for knowledge enrichment that promises lucrative careers in renowned positions.
The quality of his educational institution having received widespread recognition, compelled the founder Chairman to establish more institutions in various geographical locations not only within the state of Tamilnadu, but also across the nation.
Of late, SRM has stretched its wings in the district of Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu, one of the celebrated spots of freedom struggle, which is close to the renowned temple city, Madurai.
Chairman, SRM Group
Shri. P. Ravi is the Chairman of SRM Group, one of India’s most reputed educational institutions. He is the son of Dr T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder and Chancellor of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, an Educationist, a Philanthropist and an Industrialist.
His mother, Smt.P. Easwari, is an Educationist and Treasurer of the Valliammai Society, intending to establish educational institutions. A Post Graduate in Literature, Shri. P. Ravi holds responsibility for SRM Groups’ Corporate Functions, including Finance, Strategy Management, Business Plan, Optimization of Resources, and Innovations. He is also a renowned edupreneur, industrialist, and philanthropist.
A World Traveller
- Mr Ravi Pachamoothoo is an ardent traveller and enjoys travelling across the world. Travelling allows him to experience the working nuances of industries and enterprises that could be incorporated into the Group’s activities making them distinct leaders in the field of education.
- Mr Ravi Pachamoothoo has a Midas’ touch. In every venture he enters he turns it around in a quick time. He is very well-connected across India, loves to meet people and mentors young entrepreneurs.
AWARDS AND ACCOLADES
- In recognition and appreciation of his contribution in the fields of Education, Hospitality, and dedicated Medical Service, Shri Ravi Pachamootho has been awarded “LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2021” by the Rotary Club of Maraimalai Nagar.
The World Tamil Organization (UK) and its partner organizations honoured Shri Ravi Pachamuthu with “The Lifetime Achievement Award in Medicine for a Lifelong Commitment to Build Better Healthcare & Innovation in Health Tech Through Leadership, Sustainability, Ethics and Corporate Governance” in 2019.
He has recently been conferred the “Dharma Dharana” award by ‘Sudesi,’ a leading international magazine, for his contribution to society.
Earlier “Education Excellence Award” was conferred on him by Brands Academy in 2012.
Besides, SRM University has bagged various laurels, awards, and recognitions under his dynamic and visionary leadership.
Principal SRM Madurai College for Engineering and Technology
Professor Dr S.Durairaj is a man of multiple dimensions playing active roles in teaching, research and administration.
His profound inclination and excellence in academia obtained the Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Degree from Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland of United Kingdom(UK) through BOYSCAST FELLOWSHIP from the Department of Science and Technology-New Delhi, Govt. of India, for the year 2006-2007 in the area of Renewable Energy Sources.
The professor is also a proud recipient of a Young Scientist Fellowship (YSF) for the year 2002 from Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) with a certificate of excellence and has undergone training in Asia Brown Boweri (ABB), Bangalore, in the area of Power System Automation.
His Successful Journey:
Earlier, the professor was awarded the Doctorate Degree by Madurai Kamaraj University for his research in Reactive Power Optimization, before which the Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree were gained from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. Besides his thirst for Engineering, he has also gained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration as well.
With over 27 years of experience so far in the field of academia, the professor has the honour of being an administrator in the capacity of Principal during the later part of his career for 11 years and is marching ahead for more key positions.
Proactive research ideas, innovative teaching methodologies, novel projects, and major reformation policies for effective functioning of the institution have been witnessed in his active career.
- Also, the professor has been a key member in many inspection committees formulated by Anna University and AICTE and has chaired many academic meetings. As a down-to-earth person with key values of prompt action and punctuality, he sets a role-model for many of his associates and subordinates for being studious and optimistic with unflinching decisions and tireless efforts for the accomplishment of goals.
- His amicability and rectification approaches are worthwhile in the pruning and shaping of students’ personalities effectively that help them to cope with the growing and changing technological world.
- The professor, under his guidance, has produced six PhDs, twenty PG projects, and sixty UG projects, besides publishing 40 articles in renowned journals, presenting 45 discourses in International Conferences and 30 in National Conferences, and in many technical gatherings sponsored by AICTE, DRDO and IEEE.
- Being a beacon of light to the student community and inculcating moral values in their minds with amicability are his life-goals and the professor is in pursuit of the same.
