INTRODUCTION
The World Photography Day Competition, organized by the Fine Arts Cell, was held on August 19, 2026, at Hall No. 308. As part of the celebration of World Photography Day, a Photography Competition was organized for the students of SRM MCET to encourage creativity, observation skills, artistic expression, and appreciation of photography. The event provided an opportunity for students to showcase their photographic talents and present their unique perspectives through photographs. A theme titled “My Madurai, My Lens, My Story” was announced for the competition, and photographs taken by the students based on the theme were submitted via email. Around 15 students submitted their photographs and presented the stories behind their photographs.
HIGHLIGHTS
The event commenced promptly at 3:30 PM with a warm and thoughtful Welcome Address by Dr. P. Sabarinath, Convener, Fine Arts Cell. He welcomed all the participants and faculty members who attended the function. He explained the rules of the competition and invited the participants to present their photographs and explain the stories behind them based on the announced theme. He also welcomed the fellow members of the Fine Arts Cell to serve as judges for selecting the winners.
