Event Summary:
ISTE Student Chapter, SRMMCET in association with TVS Sundram Fasteners Limited, successfully organized a Hands-on Safety Awareness Program on 15th July 2026. The program emphasizing the significance of workplace safety and the importance of cultivating a strong safety culture among the students.
The resource persons from TVS Sundram Fasteners Limited conducted an informative and interactive session covering various aspects of safety. The participants gained practical knowledge on the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, identification of workplace hazards, safe material handling practices, fire prevention techniques, emergency response procedures, and first aid measures.
A major highlight of the program was the hands-on demonstration, during which students actively participated in practical safety exercises. The demonstrations included the correct usage of safety equipment, emergency response practices, and hazard identification techniques. These activities enabled students to understand the practical implementation of safety procedures and enhanced their confidence in handling emergencies.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions. The resource persons also shared real-life case studies and experiences, enabling students to appreciate the consequences of unsafe practices and the value of preventive safety measures.
