Event Summary:
ISTE Student Chapter of SRMM-CET successfully organized an Awareness Program on How to Be Successful in AI Era on 14th August 2026 (Friday). The program was organized to create awareness among students about the changing nature of skills required in the Artificial Intelligence era and to help them understand how AI can be effectively used as a tool without replacing independent thinking and judgement.
The session focused on the changing learning environment brought about by AI. The resource person, Mr. Karthikeyan T, Founder – ZETON Technologies, Chennai, highlighted that while AI can provide answers instantly, judgement, critical thinking, and responsibility remain essential human skills. Students were encouraged to understand the fundamentals before using AI so that they can identify incorrect or misleading answers and ask meaningful follow-up questions.
The speaker explained several important skills for succeeding in the AI era, including questioning assumptions, decomposing complex problems into smaller tasks, providing proper context in prompts, verifying AI-generated information, making informed decisions, and understanding the reasons behind errors. Students were also encouraged to challenge AI responses by testing edge cases, using counter-examples, and demanding explanations rather than accepting answers at face value.
The session further emphasized that AI should be used to amplify human thinking rather than outsource it. Students were advised to use AI for exploration, checking, experimentation, and improving productivity while retaining responsibility for the final outcome. The importance of maintaining fundamental skills, learning continuously, and using AI responsibly was also highlighted.
The program concluded with a strong message that “Learn How to Learn” is one of the most important skills in the AI era, as technologies and tools will continue to change. The program was highly informative and provided students with practical guidance on developing the thinking, questioning, verification, decision-making, and learning skills necessary to succeed alongside AI.
